I have always thought of Drew Barrymore as an unconventional beauty and I think she has something rather special.  She is at her best in vintage, she has a natural vintage look and a resemblance to her silent screen Goddess, Grandmother, Dolores Costello.  Acting wise I think her best performance to date was her role as little Edie in Grey Gardens, I would like to see her cast in more period roles, I think we have not seen the best of Drew yet.

She is much smaller than her big Sister, she is a small scale model of the original, made from cast iron and covered in gold leaf, on her base she bears the signature of Bartholdi, she has been standing proudly and quitely above a fresh water fountain in the main square known as Portalis, in the small, attractive coastal town of St Cyr-sur-Mer, in the Var department of France since 1913.  You cannot help but notice her, whilst enjoying the liberty of taking a coffee or an apertif in one of the cafes she shares the square with.  Today, she represents her big Sister, I suspect not one soul who gazes upon her, cannot do so without thinking about New York.

Up At The Villa

I hereby bequeath to the Institut de France, for the Academie des Beaux-Arts, the Villa Ile de France, in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, together with all the works of art and furniture, and the gardens surrounding the villa, for the purposes of creating a museum...To this new museum, I bequeath all my works of art, whether in Paris, 19 Avenue Foch or in the Villa Soleil and the Villa Rose de France in Monte Carlo: paintings, furniture, porcelain, tapestry, etc. it is my wish that as much as possible the museum keeps its current appearance as a salon, and that the valuable pieces are kept behind glass.
