Living in a French house, we have shutters, which most French people close at night, being English we have curtains, which most English people draw at night. I have shutters and curtains and due to an irrational fear of being hemmed in at night, I don't close my shutters or draw my curtains. We are very privileged, we have French windows in our bedroom which open out onto a terraced balcony, when I first opened my eyes this morning at 7am, this is what I saw, I simply had to get up, stick the kettle on and take photos.
Not being a naturally early riser I would have missed this if my shutters were closed and the curtains drawn.
How spectacular and special! Thank you so much for posting this - sometimes we forget how much we take for granted - like the sun coming up every day - and how beautiful it is!
ReplyDeleteYou've got a breath-taking view there!

ReplyDeleteI love shutters and intend to install some in the Annex when its finished, I have to have not only curtains but black out lining ... I need total darkness xx
simple, lovely, majestic... love these!
ReplyDeleteLucky girl indeed.
ReplyDeleteI often wonder what I miss by being such a night owl.
What a beautiful view! I would love to look out onto that. I have shutters upstairs and curtains downstairs... and a blackout blind in the bedroom. I might leave them open with a view like yours xx
ReplyDeleteA lovely view, Dash.
ReplyDeleteI have been keeping my shutters partly open recently, together with my windows to let the breeze in. In the morning I gaze upon a sort of T-shape of blue sky set against the white of the shutters. With the green trees half-way up, it's a restful picture to start the day.
Indeed breath-taking.Looks like a glimpse of heaven.
ReplyDeleteHow amazing are these photographs.... thank you for sharing and to think you might have missed it with shutters / curtains closed! x

ReplyDeleteIt's important to capture the beauty in our World...thank you. Sometimes I get so stressed over things that ultimately don't matter in the long run.
