Gosh, Dash, that first photo is just like one I took in our graden a fortnight ago during the fine spell when my daughter dropped in.
(Mind you, the table and chairs aren't quite the same and we were dressed differently and we were all holding mugs of coffee or cans of Coke and the garden's a bit smaller, and.... Oh well, I guess it's nothing like it. But it was England and it was sunny - what more do you want.)
The first three photos are all nice. They all have that late 50's feel. How sweet. Then there's the Avedon. Brilliant. The atmosphere changes in a fraction of a second.
Duchess of BEDford, indeed! And what a bed! I do wonder how they kept all that fabric dust and spider free, though.... who could sleep in a room full of ready-made spider hideouts?
Wow was she beautiful!! Of course, Mr. Avedon just had to muss her up a bit to make her even more alluring...
ReplyDeleteShe is now the Dowager Duchess since her son took over the Dukedom.
ReplyDeleteShe was stunning to look at. Until fairly recently she was to be seen going to the local hairdresser in Woburn, no side to her at all.
Stunning images by Mr. Avedon...she was a very beautiful young woman.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
