Just like a French farce there was much debate in the Town Hall, should they deepen the harbour to let all the big boats, the floating gin palaces and the tax avoidance yachts in? Then they could attract all the billionaires, the bankers and the dock dollies. Or should they keep the small colourful sailing boats, fishing vessels, modest yachts and motor boats, thankfully they decided on the latter and the locals drew a huge sigh of relief...
The colours of this town are turquoise, ochre and terracotta, then every Wednesday, one of the biggest and best markets on the Provençal coast arrives and the colours go into overdrive....
Tomorrow, a train ride, a rendezvous with my Sister and a rather special place...
Ah, Dash. This is pure delight for this French Girl! What a colorful, cheerful display you have given us today. I have looked at all your photos - twice - and I do believe my favorites are the first and the last ones. Hard to resist that cute blue boat "Mistigri" (I once had a cat with the same name.) As for the glass and rosé and olives, they sum up pretty well what life in Southern France can be... A few more weeks, and I will get to see all your subjects up close. Vivement la fin juin!
