Happy New Year

Click on this to see it sparkle

Oh dear I meant to post this yesterday.  Our New Years Eve started off with six of us supping wine and Champagne at the home of some very close friends, then we went to a party where we consumed more wine and Champagne, there are holes in the evening, I can't seem to remember the countdown and all the kissing. We were the last to leave the party (again!) and went back to our friends, where the six of us drank even more, I seem to remember taking turns to put music on the stereo, lots of falling over dancing, occasionally on the kitchen table.

I was woken up yesterday morning, by our friends dog licking my face, I was cocooned in a duvet, still fully dressed in the finery from the evening before, lying on their sitting room floor, MG was sprawled on the sofa, we felt dreadful.  After tea and ibuprofen, we came home where I adopted the recovery position on the sofa for the rest of the day, which was spent drifting in and out of sleep, whilst trying to watch films, with occasional forays into the kitchen for cups of tea, Bloody Mary's, sausage sandwiches and fruit.

I am feeling much better today, although a little achy, must have been all those nifty dance moves on the kitchen table. The detox will have to wait until next week!

I would like to thank you all for your support and wonderful comments in 2010.   Hope you all had a wonderful New Years Eve and I wish you all the best for 2011.

  5. Now that was a Good New Years Celebration !
When you wake up not remembering everything and your body aches. . Happy New Year :)

We didn't drink too much, I remember Everything.
But it was lovely and there were fireworks, until dawn. Which is a good thing and a bad thing.

  6. You already know I love your blog. Now a request: any chance of doing a post on the young Wallis Simpson? Just saw The King's Speech in which she is shown pre-marriage to Edward. Got me thinking that I have seen hundreds of photos of her late in life, but what about the early years? Got any early stuff?

    Happy New Year!
