Un Regard Oblique

Un Regard Oblique, (A Sideways Glance) Robert Doisneau, Paris 1948

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

  1. Hehe, the top one is one of Mr D's favourite ever photographs. I had no idea there were others! x

  2. HI Dash
I love this series of his.. there's quite a few isn't there? I think the copper is one of the best.. haha love it..

Hope you are well.. & crusoe too!! ciao xxx Julie

  3. And I love the third one! Doisneau's work is charming - and this is a great series. Thanks for posting these. It is really nice to start the day with a smile. Hope your weekend is wonderful, also.

  4. Hi Penny, Julie and Sharon, there are quite a few photographs in this series, these three are my favourites, they were commissioned by Life Magazine. Doisneau concealed his camera in an antique chair and angled it at the nude, then I guess he just lay in wait for the passers by.

  5. Oh aren't they fantastic? I love the cheeky policeman.

  6. Oh how fabulous I like the last one, have a super weekend xx

  7. Classic...just love them!

I just noticed your Penguin version of Lady Chatterley's Lover. I found an old copy of The African Queen by C.S. Forester in one of my clean ups yesterday. Just love those old Penguin books...

Best wishes Dash for a wonderful weekend.

    Jeanne :)

  8. These are super! Had seen the top one, but not the others - being part of a set makes the whole thimg much more amusing. He must have had a great laugh whilst doing these!

    Have a great weekend!

    Ali x

  9. Love this! The lady's face in the third photo is priceless!

I am a tremendous fan of Lady Chatterley's very romantic...oh, that we all would have a cottage shed in the woods to run away to!

  10. These photos are just classic!
    Have a great weekend.
