I first spotted this typical Bigourdan farmhouse about six years ago, whilst getting lost tying to find a friends house, it has always stuck in my mind and was the inspiration for me to plant red climbing roses on the front of our house. I returned today to photograph it. It still looks as good as when I first saw it.
The rose is beautiful! It looks so wonderfully French. Even the potting shed pic on your previous posting has an air of romance to it.
ReplyDeleteMy roses are living with greenfly at the moment - is it a problem where you are?

Word Verification: fustimat - something that you'd definitely find in a Scottish potting shed :-)
I love these photos ! We are planning a trip to the South West this Summer, hopefully on the way to the Ile de Re, I am counting the days already - although the weather is remarkably good here in Blighty. You take lovely photos xxx
ReplyDeleteLove the juxtaposition of the new roses with the "old" building . . .
ReplyDeleteThere are some buildings..or juxtapositions of buildings and plants that stick in the mind...and how great that it was just as you remembered it!
ReplyDeleteHow typical of la Poste to stick those blasted boxes on poles in front of it, too.
I have loved these posts! So beautiful. Just like May is supposed to look.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the red roses :)
ReplyDeleteI came here via a Tranquil Townhouse and am so glad I did!
ReplyDeleteI love France so much..and your blog is the perfect place for me. I love your pictures! Now I'm off to check out your past posts..

The French have eyes for everything. I'd love to live there. Look at the way they frame the arch with the rose garland - one has a real artistic pair of eyes to bring out aesthetic qualities against the backdrop of bucolic charms.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully photographed.
I love this! What a beautiful place. Oh, it's official - I am so jealous!
